Mansfield Athletics
The Mansfield Little Athletics Club has been going strong since 1972. In 2021 we have introduced a senior side to the club with regular training available for all ages and abilities. The Mansfield Marathon is our first event and hopefully in future we can get more club events happening around the Mansfield District.
The Mansfield Marathon is a major fundraiser for Mansfield Athletics. It may go to purchasing new equipment for the Little Athletics program or it may help us provide further club events in the future. Either way it’s a win win for you and the community if you get involved!
Great Victorian Rail Trail
Mansfield is very lucky to have the start/finish of the Great Victorian Rail Trail. It makes the perfect place for an event like the Mansfield Marathon along with a great training track.
The ‘Friends of the Great Victorian Rail Trail’ is a group of volunteers that look after the best interests of the trail so everyone can enjoy it. The trail does require maintenance and projects like tree planting along the trail and installation of drink stations are just some of the important work the Friends group carries out.
Notice the trees planted by the Friends of the Great Victorian Rail Trail, this will provide welcome shade and shelter in years to come.
